Indy shines at the Work & Show competition in Ratheim

Rather than central or south Germany we ventured further up north today to the wonderful gardens of Haus Hall in Ratheim for the show element of the LCD 2017 Work & Show event. What a backdrop to a show. And after the fog cleared up the weather was even fantastic.

Today’s judge was Mrs. Cinzia Sgorbati, I (Dolphingham) who also judged the working element the day before. There was a good mixture of dogs today and some new faces and of course good friends.

Overall the results were quite surprising across the board.

Riley managed to get a Very Good assessment but no placing in Open Class. Although nice feedback from the judge it was clear his build and head were not to her liking, in particular that his head was too big and muzzle too short. That said, we thought Riley did very well today ignoring the distractions of the lovely young ladies when he was in the ring.

Indy on the other hand was more fortunate. He won his Puppy Class with a Very Promising assessment and lovely comments from the judge. To top it all off he went up against the best Puppy Bitch and was awarded Best Puppy. This is now the 3rd time in his very short Show Career that he has won Best Puppy and with that has collected the Rosettes for Best Puppy at Club Show, and International Show and a Work & Show event.

As always we’re very proud of the boys and are so happy that Indy is showing such promise to follow in the success of his big brother.
