Dutch Scooter vom Storkenbusch (“Riley”) by Ch. Creekwater Surf Scoter and A Sense of Pleasure’s Pepsi ended the year in a way none of us could have imagined.
A year ago, against all expectations, he was awarded his first CAC for German Champion (VDH) In Karlsruhe. He then started this show year in January by repeating his performance and ended with the last show of the year, not even 13 months after his first win, by achieving his 5th CAC required for the Champion Title (*subject to VDH confirmation).
It was on Sunday at the International that he really pulled out all the stops. Judged by Mrs. Gerda Groeneweg Riley was awarded a first place in Open Class with CAC for VDH German Champion, LCD CAC, CACIB and in the end also Best Opposite Sex.
None of us could have imagined this could ever happen, let alone so quickly – and it still hasn’t really sunk in. We were totally overwhelmed – not only by his performance and success but also the fantastic reactions from all our friends who were there to share in this special moment.
We thank everyone who encouraged us, believed in us and most importantly supported us through the highs and lows. And mostly we once again thank Dagmar Eck from the Storkenbusch Kennel for entrusting us with this amazing creature.
And not to be forgotten Indy too performed very well. As expected he wasn’t placed but did get Excellent awarded. As he’s only very young we are now giving him a little bit of time to fill out so he can compete with the older youngsters and no doubt he too will surprise in the shows to come.
Congratulations Riley – you are THE BEST
