After Riley’s adventure at the Windsor Championship Dogshow last week it was time again to attend a show in the home country. This trip took us to the SRA LCD Club Show in Gelsenkirchen (D).
As Indy was now old enough to be entered in the German Club Shows in Baby Class he was up first. For only his second ever competition he did really well. Of course it is still very difficult for him to understand what is going on and concentration is short lived but that will come with experience.
Judge Mr. Kalvo Kriisk, EST (Gypsy’s Soul) was critical but fair and awared Indy with a Very Promising 2nd Place and some very great comments. We will take the judge’s advice on board and give Indy more ring training and experience but we are very impressed with his performance at such a young age.
Next up was Riley who has now moved in to the very competitive Open Class (2-8 years). As his birhday was only a week ago he was the baby in class and we were under no illusion that he would even get placed. We know he needs more discipline and training but that’s what these shows are for.
Safe to say Riley managed to surprise us again today. As soon as he got in the ring he decided to “strike” as it was too warm by lying on the ground and not getting up. When he finally did get up he decided to show his socks off and this clearly impressed the judge as in the end he was awared with a Excellent 3rd Place.
We are over the moon with both boys and their performances today and came home with lots of prizes and two more rozettes to add to the collection.
