After 2 weeks of rest following his slight injury we had no expectations of the Nightshow on Saturday and the LCD Clubshow on Sunday in Erftstadt-Gymnich (D).
This was nothing more than another training show as far as we were concerned and we wanted to see if there were any further issues with his movement. Who better to ask then 2 very experienced judges. The weather was HOT with temperatures exceeding the 30 degrees at times so challenging for man and dog but plenty of shade and water baths were provided and dogs were allowed to be shown wet.
On Saturday Riley was shown to Judge Sergio Scarpellini, I (Dukeland) and was awared a Exc. 3rd Place (V3).
Mr. Scarpellini commented: – Lovely head, Good neck, topline and tail, good coat, well balanced, good bone and feet, moves well but needs more experience in the ring.
The evening was finished off with a lovely buffet in the Gymnicher Muhle courtyard.
On Sunday it was an early start when it was still cooler and this time Riley was presented to Judge Philippe Lammens, F (Misty Dreams). Clearly the lower termperatures were more to RIley’s liking as he was awared an Exc. 2nd Place with Res. challenge Dt. Ch. VDH. We’re over the moon with the 2nd place but the comments make us even prouder.
Mr. Lammens commented: “Excellent Type, Lovely head and expression, Excellent Neck, topline and tailset, well angulated upperarm and shoulders, well angulated back with powerful backend, nice body, bones and feet, moved well – no undercoat today. Champion Quality.
We thank the organisers for a wonderful event and a very special thanks to the judges for their comments and we are delighted that Riley is back to his normal self again.
