“A game of 2 halves” for Riley in Hannover

This weekend was RIley’s last show in Intermediate Class before he moves up to the highly competitive Open Class. This took us to the city of Hannover (D) where on Saturday Riley was entered in the Intenational CACIB show and and on Sunday in the VDH Annual Trophy Show. It was nice to see that both days were well visited and Riley had serious competition.

On Saturday Riley was presented before judge Caron Morton (UK) and was awarded with an Exc. 3rd place. Mrs. Morton’s comments were full of praise and we thank her for the encouraging feedback.

Sunday once again showed that beauty is in the eye of the beholder when Riley was presented before judge Mrs. Wies Boerman (NL). Riley was awared with a V. Good but no placement – despite some initial confusion over who was and wasn’t placed. For some judges RIley’s head is one of his strongest features, for others it is not what they like to see. In this case it wasn’t what Mrs. Boerman was looking for. That is the reality of competitive dog showing.

We look forward to some more exciting shows with Riley in the highly competitive Open Class moving forward.
